Studio10 WJAR NBC10
Lifestyle Show Intern
In the Spring of 2020, I began my internship at WJAR's new lifestyle show, Studio10. As an intern for Studio10, I had the opportunity to observe and learn from all the hard-work that goes into reporting, shooting, editing, and overall putting together not only a fun, but also, an informative broadcast television show.

My internship duties included, but were not limited to, rundown preparation, observing in the control room and editing suites, interacting and networking with guests, shadowing reporters, preparing guests before and after the show, and managing social media platforms. Additionally, I was responsible for recording and shooting behind the scenes footage of pre-recorded segments for social media.

The knowledge and experience I gained throughout my internship was nothing short of invaluable. In this section of my portfolio, I will showcase important skills that I gained throughout my internship at Studio10.

Evidence 1 - Social Media Management

Part of my responsibility as an intern included recording and capturing good quality photos, short clips of behind the scenes, or moving images for the show’s social media pages. After capturing them, I would come up with a relatable caption for the post, keeping in mind the show's target audience, and incorporating the appropriate hashtags. This part of my internship experience

allowed me to

consistently practice social

media branding techniques which has added value to the skills-

I have enriched over the years.

My main responsibility while interning for Studio10 was meeting and greeting guests and guiding them through the facility. I intentionally took advantage of this time to interact and network with anyone I came across while remaining professional and respectful. It gave me the opportunity to get to know different community organizations, leaders, influencers, and business owners; to learn about different companies and products, and to make connections that I can reference back to in the future. Overall, the most powerful skill I earned while interacting and networking with guests was my ability to develop strong relationship-building skills. My greatest accomplishment during this internship was having the opportunity to make connections that have opened new doors for me.

Evidence 3 - Behind the Scenes, Pre-recorded Segments.

At Studio10, there was always something new happening; whether it was inside, or out of the facility. My favorite part of the internship experience was having the privilege to go on trips out of the studio to capture behind the scene images and video of pre-recorded segments. The main purpose for capturing behind the scenes photos was to tease the upcoming segments on social media and to give the audience an inside scoop to what's coming. This evidence showcases my ability to capture quality photography for social media branding and marketing purposes.
