My internship at Regan Communications Group landed at the very start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which came as a shock to everyone. There was a lot of uncertainty at the time about what would happen moving forward. Nevertheless, Regan Communications Group did an excellent job managing the crisis, pivoting and accommodating it's interns to make sure we had the best and most knowledgeable experience possible. 

 

As an intern for Regan, I had the opportunity to work for Vice President, Kate Murphy, and be directly under the supervision of Account Executive, Spencer Gossy. My internship duties included, but were not limited to - creating media lists, contacting media outlets and following up, pitching to prospective clients, drafting press materials such as pitches, calendar listings and more. Additionally, I was responsible for attending daily meetings as needed, via zoom calls - the new way of communicating in 2020. The highlight of my internship was; learning how to pitch, influencer marketing, and becoming familiar with the widely known software called Cision.  

 

Although we had to adjust in many different ways, I am thankful for the knowledge and experience I acquired at Regan Communications Group. I feel confident and knowledge about having gained the skills necessary to work in the field of public relations and I look forward to applying them to my next opportunity.
